If you get married and your wife wants to have kids you will give her kids.

No, she will decide either to forego the kids or leave. Of course, if the OP (or anyone else for that matter) know they want kids, they won't marry someone who does want them.

Yeah - that's not a disaster waiting to happen!

Epic FAIL.

My S.O.'s ex-W pulled that number on him, even though she knew he didn't want children. He divorced her.

My ex almost pulled that one on me but I left her before she succeeded, and luckily she came around and realized she has a long ways to go before she's ready to parent.

The kicker is that if she were to have kids, they wouldn't have been with me cause I'm female. She threatened to go out and have random sex with a man so that we could have a baby. Dead serious.

You can see why I left her.

It's good to know what you want. If you are happy with not having kids and make sure that "accidents" don't happen, no one would be hurt.

Selfish to whom? There are enough people having babies. The human race is in no danger of dying out. It would be nice if you spent some of that time volunteering or something, but it's your life to spend as you see fit.

I'd rather someone not have kids than feel obliged to have kids they never wanted in the first place.

I absolutely can see why you'd leave her, and my S.O. went through something markedly similar.

For some people, the desire to procreate is intensely strong to the point where it takes precedence over existing relationships. It becomes a point where there's no compromise. When this happens, it's a lose-lose for both, when one party doesn't want kids. JMHO.

Or when they don’t want kids right now. (We were both 21 when she pulled that and she was abusing me. Hardly in the place to be parents. I could see that but she couldn't.)

I'm 38 and never had kids. I wouldn't get too down about it. In my opinion, there are more people out there today who have decided kids are just not something they want to dedicate themselves too.
