Also I think that women in their 20s don't want to date a man who is 30 or older.
20-something women pretty much date within their age-range. Late 20-s date within their "range", which would include guys in their early 30's. "missed out on dating women in their 20's"? What's to miss out on? Women are women. What's the difference between a 30-year-old and a 29-year old? Women aren't commodities, they're people. Just enjoy talking to women. The important thing is to find a woman who's interested in you, and whom you get along with. It's easier said than done. Don't limit your options.

Guys in their 30's and above who intentionally seek women in their early 20's are mentally disturbed and want a woman to control. Men in their 30's who meet younger women and it clicks of course is another story.

Actually, FWIW, it was a couple of the guys here who posted on an earlier thread that older men who look for way younger women are on a control trip.

Unfortunately I speak from experience. I dated a few men who did intentionally seek younger and it was to control.

I'm far from an old bitter bitty but nice try. I'm not your hon baby boy.

Now at 38, my age range is 30-45, but I'm starting to think 30 may be too young. I'm finding, however, it seems that regardless of the man's age, any woman over 35 is too old.
I think maybe you are sabotaging yourself by taking that attitude.

There's nothing wrong with you, but let's be realistic. Guys go younger. Most 50 year old guys don't want to be with a 50 year old woman. Guys who are 30 may go with a 40 year old woman, but you have to be very, very hot. Average isn't going to reach back to age 30 in most cases. If you're 38, I think your realistic age range should be about 34 or 35, to 48 (but willing to go to 50).

Finding someone at this point in your life is going to be more difficult so you have to be more open minded about this. 12 years difference at your age is completely different than 12 years difference at age 20.

Anything around 10 years difference is okay, actually. Like anything else, a lot of this simply depends on how you interact with the other person. Kathie Lee Gifford is 20 years younger than Frank.

I took my old assistant around town (work related) and she was in her 20's. She was married, so nothing would have happened, but I could see something happening with the right person. I'm not saying this would be the smartest thing to do, but I can see how and why it happens.

Not really. You just have to be interesting. If you have a lot of common interests with the guy and have an interesting life, they don't care how old you are. Life is not a cesspool of cliches.

A 50 year old man may not want a 50 year old woman but guess what he is going to get likely? I can almost guarantee that 30 year old won't look at him. I am 42 and the idea of a 60 year old man makes my skin crawl because he is old enough to be my dad. Btw Taco Man is 50 and if he wasn't a young 50 there is no way I'd otherwise want to date him. He acts young 9as do I)but a typical 50 year old man would just be too old.
