I had an ice cream date this weekend with a guy from online I had been talking to for a little over a month.
It was really fun, but in the middle of the date he excused himself and went to his car.
When he came back he handed me a Macy's bag with Gucci perfume...???
Huh?!
It honestly made me feel a little uncomfortable especially since it was our first date.
I thanked him and told him he didn't have to buy me anything...and that it was honestly a bit much.
This guy is French, so I hear they move a little bit faster than American men.
And we did share a small kiss when the date was over, but apparently this means you two are officially dating afterwards. Something I definitely didn't know!
Why would a guy buy such a gift for the first date?

He's WAY too overeager.
I would say he was either hoping to score, or he's a nerdy type without any clue that he jumped the gun.
Are you going out with him again? If so, you know you better slap some of the Gucci on.
