I had an ice cream date this weekend with a guy from online I had been talking to for a little over a month.

It was really fun, but in the middle of the date he excused himself and went to his car.

When he came back he handed me a Macy's bag with Gucci perfume...???

Huh?!

It honestly made me feel a little uncomfortable especially since it was our first date.

I thanked him and told him he didn't have to buy me anything...and that it was honestly a bit much.

This guy is French, so I hear they move a little bit faster than American men.

And we did share a small kiss when the date was over, but apparently this means you two are officially dating afterwards. Something I definitely didn't know!

Why would a guy buy such a gift for the first date?

Hell no. He's just trying to buy his way into your pants. Sounds like a real winner.

Take it and run!

I don't know. You shouldn't have accepted it if it bothered you that much. Just say "non".

He's WAY too overeager.

I would say he was either hoping to score, or he's a nerdy type without any clue that he jumped the gun.

Either way, red flag!

I thought this..but I already made it clear that's not happening.

He tried to invite me to his house and I told him to stop asking. I'm not comfortable yet.

LOL.

I know I shouldn't have. I feel like he mention the fact that he bought it if he were to ever try anything with me.

The bold.

He's 27 and a senior applications developer. The youngest in the company.

He graduated Valedictorian in HS.

I really don't think he knows how to act around women.

Are you going out with him again? If so, you know you better slap some of the Gucci on.
