I just want to hear what guys think about receiving an expensive present from their gf on christmas. Ive been dating my bf for a little over two months. Before we became bf/gf he was paying for all our dates, never let me pay. I started paying just recently when we became bf/gf. Im thinking of getting him a Louis Vuitton wallet, expensive but will be a great present for him( his wallet is falling apart and I want to replace it). Do you guys think he would appreciate it or would he think Im high maintenance for getting him an expensive present. I love LV purses thats why I thought of getting him an LV wallet. I need guys perspective please. Thanks.

His birthday was in October and I did not get him a present( right before we started dating). My bf treats me really well so I think he deserves it.

No I don't think he would think you were high maintenance, I think he would really appreciate the gift. Guys really like it when women do nice things for them, it makes them feel appreciated, just the fact that you are going to get him a gift is great but an expensive one will make a special impression, IMHO.

Thank you! He treats me really well so he deserves it. I want to get him something that will make him feel that I appreciate all the nice things he's done for me.

Make sure he's the type of guy that will recognize a LV wallet. Most of us are good with a Fossil(insert a bunch of of mid ranch wallets) wallet, and he might not appreciate it according to your expectations. Then again don't expect any reaction, because he might not meet your expectation.

i can see why he is good to you with this attitude.....

go with your gut feeling, giving a gift is as much about the giving as receiving - so if you like to give, im sure he will love it

The wallet is overkill. If he is not a Mr. GQ with expensive tastes ---you'd be better off buying him a nice, cheap leather wallet from one of the bargain stores.

He could view you as wasteful.

Not to mention the paying thing may be a turn off--expecially if he enjoys paying.

I think it will be a lovely gift, if you can easily afford it. When a relationship is new and fresh, it's the perfect time to express yourself.

You've only been dating for two months; and yes, it could turn a guy off if he is getting the high maintenance clue, and if he is not into "labels". If his wallet is falling apart, that doesn't mean he needs or wants a LV, and it actually shows his frugal side.

Why not get a nice well made brand that he will appreciate, and save the high end gifts for once you are engaged -- if that happens. If you start with high end gifts, where do you go from there? Most men are embarrassed to receive expensive gifts from women, and the relationship often cools down after that.

Will he care that it's a LV or would he be the type to at the fact that it's LV? If he doesn't care about the brand, get him something well made that isn't quite as expensive. You'd be wasting your money otherwise.

I was just looking at LV wallets online and was reminded that I (personally) don't care for that brand because I don't like ostentatious labeling. Your BF might prefer something that is high quality, but more subtle.
