I would say that the #1 piece of advice would be to not use 'bad boys' or 'jerks' as role models even though plenty of hot chicks are attracted to this type of man. If you are not a 'bad boy' type and you're a 'nice guy' type, stay a nice guy type and if they don't like it, that's their loss.
I was a train wreck trying to date or have romantic relations when I was a teen (and in my early 20's). Far too many things going on for one bit of advice.
However, to keep my response short, it would be to communciate more, and guess less. I was always trying to act or say things in response to what I thought the women were thinking. Trying to overanalyze words, actions, situations, etc. Stop guessing, start asking.
