Seriously, "muscle man" poses - especially if you're over 30 - just make you look like a tool. And so, so, so vain.

(Also unappreciated - those shots of yourself with just a table or counter barely covering your junk.)

This has been my PSA for today.

Any guy with a shirtless photo he took himself in the mirror is automatically dismissed.

I agree. If you are confident with your looks, you don't need to pose or show off in your pics.

There are photos of me almost naked on the internet.

I was part of a campaign to raise money for a military charity and they did a photoshoot. It was of soldiers with heavy scarring and burns and a couple of amputees. It was done by an FHM type magazine in the UK.

I doubt i'd ever use them on a dating site although there are people into almost everything.

That's different, though. You're not using them to your advantage. You took them for a good cause.

Shirtless or flexing pics don't bother me, regardless of who's taking them. I just don't dig those duck faces that so many folks seem to make these days.

And why does everybody take self portraits in the vehicle???? I noticed that seems to be pretty common as well. Is the lighting supposed to be better??

A few of my friends have done this and I'm puzzled by it

Totally different - professionally done photos for a cause. Put them in your profile and that's an interesting conversation starter. Similar if a guy is into tattoos and posts pictures of his tattoos. But "Hey I'm gonna get naked in the bathroom and post the photos online" is just offputting.

And they could at least clean the bathroom first.
