How many of you still have problems with insecurities that have haunted you for years?
I'm 24, so maybe I'm a bit young to refer to "my youth," but if I'm honest it's amazing how hard it is to truly let go of a few insecurities I've had since I was literally 14-15 years old. My outward behavior concerning these insecurities has improved considerably, but my actual core beliefs and feelings are nearly unchanged.
Just wondering--how many others have a similar experience as they get older?
I have some left over! I'm very different now than when I was a teenager. I was so shy when I was young...people who meet me now can't even believe that's true! I remember being really skinny and short, big glasses, braces...bad dresser! I'm 28 now and sometimes I still feel like that awkward shy little girl inside. Over time I've gotten so much more confident (and hopefully better looking), but I still flash back sometimes to who I used to be.
man, i'm like a walking ball of insecurities. i once got angry when a girl said "why don't you decide" because in my mind it was like she was accusing me of being indecisive (which I am, so it wouldn't even have been a false accusation). i snapped and said "what?, I can't think about it first?" really angrily, and she was like "wtf?"....
