You see a lot of people who say accents are sexy, but it makes me wonder if they'd actually want to be in a relationship with them or not. I bet a lot of them wouldn't.
Not to take away from people with accents.. just an observation.
I don't find it problematic. Well OK maybe one of those thick Irish accents would be difficult to understand.
It maybe a stupid question but I am just curious. Would you date someone who has an accent of another country? If you are from U.S. and they were raised from a different country but speak really good English. Why and why not? Thanks.

I sincerely doubt that the accent is the deciding factor.
it depends, I like all accents except for southern ones. If it's a southern one forget it, I wouldn't want my kids to grow up speaking like a barnyard hill billy.
Seeing as the girl I'm dating right now barely speaks a word of English.. yes I would date a girl with an accent. Actually for me that adds points to her attractiveness. It's actually strange being with a girl that doesn't have an accent.
then how do you guys communicate and where is she from?
Depends on how bad it is. English and Australian accents are people who are from English speaking countries, they can speak fine without studdering or stammering for proper word choice. Now someone from Asia who has only known English for a few years may have a much more difficult time speaking it, and may be less functional in this country because of the language barrier.
Personally speaking, we are all people, and just because one person may sound less educated or intelligent when speaking a SECOND language, means nothing at all. Truth is, they know at least two languages, possibly more, where the majority of Americans only know English.
Now, having said that, I am a bit picky and I find some accents to be annoying. Just as I may not want to date someone with a very horrible accent because they are from Asia, I will be equally as picky and not want to date an American with a horrible southern and hick accent. It goes both ways.
All other things being equal, no accent would be a deal breaker for me. No accent would definitively ruin it...unless I couldn't understand the words and had to "what? I'm sorry, I didn't catch that?" all the time. That's uncomfortable and I wouldn't carry on a relationship past one date (if I were in the market) with such a person. Communication is too important.
Now some accents actually make people more alluring...even MUCH more so. Brit, Irish, Scots, Aussie, South African, even other Euro languages like Italian, French or Spanish if the speech is otherwise clear and well spoken. I had the chance to talk to a singer with a band from New Zealand who were touring as openers for GWAR this fall tour, band was Legacy of Disorder...and the guy looked all hardcore, but he was so sweet and darling to speak to...and I said to him, "I've always wanted to say something to a man with an accent like yours. Now don't take me wrong, I'm married, this isn't about me personally...but I've always wondered why men with cool accents don't come to the US more often, just to get laid. I mean, you could talk to almost any single American girl with an accent like yours, and she'd be all over you." He laughed and said, "Do I have an accent? Really?" o.O I was like, ohhh yeah. Yeah, you do. And it's awesome.
