Move this to the non-romantic RS board.

It's called an OPINION. No I do not think friends should pay for other friends but if they do....

why the heck would I care? That's their buisness, it's not my money. It also applies to everyone else as well. I assume this is a given, a "Duh" to everyone except you apparently.

The problem here is you quoted what I said and didn't bother reading what I said. So read the posts first.

Couldn't rep you. She "doesn't care what other people do.". And then she proceeds to spend an astronomical amount of time, caring what other people do. How bizarre.

Both of you need to get together to figure this one out:

I posted in the thread as to my opinion on paying for friends and vice versa.

That's what EVERYONE in the thread is supposed to do plain and simple. It's not "caring" what other people do, it's posting in the thread on the topic. Get it straight.

It doesn't mean we all 'care' if someone does the opposite, hence why they're called opinions. Assuming that I 'care' anymore then the next person on the thread makes no sense at all.

How bizarre that you never seem to make a comment in the thread on the actual thread topic.....

I don't like paying for female friends unless I know they're really broke

It's just a weird thing to me. Makes me feel very awkward

I used to that, and it always meant that I wanted some benefits. These days, if I'm gonna pay for my friends I don't do it because they're male or female. At the end of the meal we'll be like I'll get it/no I'll get it and whoever insists the most pays.

you shouldn't be expecting any kind of 'benefits' unless the woman was a hooker.

Man, and I thought I was glass half-full.

To the OP, yes, sometimes. Sometimes, they've treated me and I'm reciprocating. Sometimes, I'm celebrating an event and feeling generous. Sometimes, they've put me up while traveling, and I pay for all the sightseeing, meals, etc.

Some of them have turned out to be turds over the years, so we have no longer intersected in the recent past. I'm sure I've told some of the stories ... the Janet Napolitano-alike who hates her Dad, etc., etc.

I guess I am friends with a lot of very generous people! I won't say it's not a big deal because I'm very appreciative when people treat me and I try to either get them the next time or do something nice for them in return (I'm talking about friends - so like making them scones or banana bread - no sexual favors). I don't know - I think it's nice to treat people sometimes. I don't ever feel like I'm being used or anything.
