This is a spin off of the marriage thread but me and Jet Jockey made comments that often men won't date women with advanced degrees. I have a masters and have been told by men I intimidate them. My own mother tells me not to appear too smart to men or to mention my degrees.

Well, degrees don't necessarily mean intelligence but a girl that is dumb as bricks is a deal breaker for me. So, yes I would date a girl with advanced degrees.

Yes, I would and as a matter of fact I do.

Why wouldn't I? Silly question

I am glad to see some men like smart women because I have been rejected on this. In fact one guy even told me he hates women smarter than him.

I thought this died out sometime in the later 20th Century. Is this a mid-Western or Bible Belt thing?

You have to remember, CD men are not 'normal' men

As for me, I rarely tell guys about my degrees or my plan for grad school unless they specifically ask. I've found it's been more of a negative than a positive, but since I moved to a more educated area I'm hoping it's not as big of a deal.
