My partner is uncircumsized. Often there is an odor from that area which is offputting during intimacy. I have asked him to be more diligent about washing and he has a clean bill of health. He tries, but the odor is there anytime he does not wash directly before interaction, which can put a cramp in spontaneity. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel badly even bringing this up with him, as I know its a topic that no one would really want to hear.
Doesn't everyone wash before interaction? Women aren't exactly odor-free and pristine in that dept. You can make showers or a bath part of foreplay.
Just get a WARM wash cloth and wipe him down each time before you do it. And not just the foreskin, but all parts down there - also all the area between the legs and the upper inside of the legs. I'm sure he will enjoy being wiped down!
All men have an odor down there even just a few hours after taking a shower. Especially if walking a lot or driving a long distance.
Note to some, that odor is a natural "perfume" which they like!
I am fairly tolerant of natural body scents but this is pungent and sort of sour. I have had other partners who were not circumsized, and experienced the same sort of issue. I was never with them for long. I would hate something like this to put a cramp in our relationship, but I really have a difficult time with it. I have been vocal about it but again, I don't want to make him overly embarassed.

Agreed. After a day of work or walking around or strolling on the beach watching the sunset or horseback riding most people are not going to be smelling like a flower].
No, but I've never noticed any odors on any of the guys I've interacted with.
It's possible he may simply have very poor hygeine, i.e. lack of really washing the relevant parts, manscaping, etc. Also, don't discount the fact that if he doesn't drink a lot of water that could make residual urine on the penis (because there will be) really smelly.
[have him take a shower first then see if the smell is still there]
