We don't assume. We post in response to the guys' statements that they're going after hot women, or whatever. You're pretty new here, so you haven't had much opportunity to observe that. But I guess you missed Cyphorx's post on this thread, where he said:

Because at a certain point, a lot of these struggling guys aren't just looking for a cool woman to spend time with, it gets to be an ego thing. They consciously or subconsciously want the best of the best to prove to themselves (or to their friends and family or to society at large) that they're not losers or misfits. It's "Look at me--I can get a hot chick."

I agree with you. I don't think that. And to answer your question, YES, they do.
It's not that these unsuccessful men are going for the wrong women. It's just that they are giving off a signal that is unappealing to all kinds of women--those who are able to discern the signs of insecurity, weakness, instability, antisocial tendencies, self-centeredness, crippling emotional issues, or whatever. The pool shrinks to women who can't read certain signs that men are giving off. So of course, finding "the one" who can look past that is harder.

I guess below average have to date women who live in a garbage can unless they are shallow. How does attractive to me translate to most attractive.
I wouldn't say never but its as rare as sseeing an attractive woman with an ugly man.
