Whatever he says, who cares? It's not what he says that matters.

Most guys I know wouldn't object to a movie date. No talking. Easy score on browny points.

Unless it's implied that Les Mis is the equivalent to Sex in the City, I'd say most people wouldn't mind watching that movie since lots of people like popular musicals like Les Mis or maintstream stuff, in general.

That's such a dbag move.
Calling out how he's suffering just for your benefit.

No, that movie is very Les Miserable to sit through.

This film is anything but 'girly' - in fact, it's quite gruesome and gritty. Initially, I thought the same thing, but went anyways as I had heard reviews - including from our triathlete alpha male pastor who swam from Alcatraz with sharks - lol. He posted on his Facebook how he was simply blown away at the experience. The story is NOT a feel-good chick flick and goes to the root of human beings and the power of grace. You forget about halfway through that they are singing - I kid you not. It's not your typical musical - anything but - it is a powerful, sad story of what men do to each other in mankind's history. I have a few alpha male friends who saw this - or were dragged to do so - and they were blown away. It is a cinematic experience unlike any other I have been through. Amazing film that should have won the Oscar - "Argo" was good, but overrated and "Lincoln," as exceptional as it was, was not as good as "Les Miserables.".
