When you start dating someone, how would you know? Do you ask them about this stuff before dating?

I've never asked, but I've only been with two women that didn't like shaving. Both shaved because I asked them too, but they naturally walked around with full on growth. What happened most of the time is they haven't had sex, or been open to having sex, in quite some time. At that point, they never saw the point of grooming, since both of them had not been sexually active. Once I started sleeping with both of them, at different times in my life, they both started to shave regularly.
I've found women who tan, get pedicures and/or manicures, pretty much shave or wax down below. I'm a firm believer of how a woman keeps her fingernails and toe nails is a good indication of how they keep their pubic area as well. They don't have to be painted, but the one's that kept a neat appearance on hands and feet, kept the same appearance down below!
I groom my area as well, since I think pubic hair is DISGUSTING!!
Say you got along well, were generally attracted to her but for some reason she refused to groom down below and rolled with an old school full out 80's setup. Could you date a woman under these circumstances? How important is that to you?

Even the earthy topanga canyon yoga practicing, vegan eating, save the planet, nature loving types I know are well groomed/trimmed down there.
