Not true at all, not all men my age can date younger. Besides, why should I have to date men who are fathers I deserve a decent man just like anyone else. Why should I have to take crumbs and date men who lack in my morals? Fathers should have stayed married.

I am not saying OP should lower her standard, I am not saying that at all. But I am wondering if OP can be a little bit more realistictic. Forget about the men who have options to date young, forget about them, just concentrate on yourself for a change.

You are 42 years old, let's face it, the chance of getting pregnant naturally is very slim. You don't want a divorced man, you don't want a father, you don't want to date long distance, you don't want a man who doesnt want children.

I think you are not being very realistic in the dating world. I think you should at least open to divorced men and men in their 40s who don't want children in the future.
I am being realistic. Why is it men are told they can date whomever they want but women are told to settle?

How realistic are you being?
Who tells people these things? Are they someone you should be listening to?

Better than people online who tell me I should date people lacking my morals like divorced dads. I personally know people older than me who had kids and married quality men without kids so why shouldn't I be able to seek this? I am more realistic than a 40 year old man who thinks 25 year old women want him.

You should seek whatever you want. Who's telling you otherwise? And why do you listen to them?

Basically people here are telling me to settle and that I can do no better. Not true, I can and would rather be alone than someone who has no morals.

IDDY, why do you keep starting these threads? They ALWAYS result in you arguing with people over your standards & expectations.

Responders, why do you keep trying to change her mind? That is just an exercise in frustration. Over & over. Stop trying to convince her to date divorced men or fathers. It won't happen.

I don't have a problem with anything you've mentioned other than distance and age. I think you should be a little more open minded about those two things.

Distance? Yes it's both hard and unlikely. But is someone from Indy or Milwaukee or Fort Wayne or Peoria really that far when you think about it?

Age. Great if you can find someone close to your age, but whatever you've been doing obviously hasn't been working. Age, within reason, shouldn't be a deal killer. 10 or 12 years difference is no big thing at your age.
