Anyone else get this feeling sometimes? How often do you think it happens?
More often than you realize.

People make up stories a lot of the time. Of course they'd do it in a forum where it's less likely that they'll get caught.

I'm leery of some of the folks that have a 2 or 3 post history and get on here with some bizarre story that involves a lot of graphic detail. I know it's the web and anonymous and all but some of the stories have me wondering if it's not a few teenagers roaring in the background with laughter at the replies.

I think the internet is the telephone of the 1940s and 50s. How often in that era us kids would gather around the phone make random calls and say stuff like "Is your Refrigerator Running?" and if they said "Yes" we would answer "Go catch it, it just ran down the street" then hang up and laugh our fool heads off.

The internet is the playtoy of today's children. We will have the kiddos come on to play and like in the 40s they will grow up and in a few short years look back in almost disbelief that they were so silly.

If a story on a forum is too astonishing to take seriously, it probably shouldn't be taken seriously.

You know, there are a few posters who have posted things that absolutely could not be true but after reading more and more, it seems true, even though it is so crazy. Maybe it is so crazy it CAN'T be made up! Especially when it is spoken of more than once.

At any rate, much of it is entertaining, at least.

I hate to admit this but as a teen (before caller ID)I used to love to crank call people. I ended up stopping when one of them called me back and said they called the cops.
