I don't mean to be controversial. But I was speaking with a female co-worker who was complaining about her friends who she said were average in looks yet had free stuff lavished onto them on a daily basis regardless of accomplishment or intelligence. Free tickets to events, free dinners, some guys even offered to pay the rent. Would the average guy be able to get such treatment?

Nope.
Move on, it ain't gonna change and no point in worrying about it. There are certain things that each sex has to deal with that can be pro's or con's.

This thread is goofy. I am an above average woman and in my 20's was a model and I still didn't get all these items some of you men claim all women get. Sure I had men buying me lobster dinners and gifts but trips? nope. Then again I dated middle class men.

Haha when did I say trips? I said tickets to events (theatre, basketball and baseball games, etc).
Isn't that part of dating, to buy tickets to events? if a man asked me to an event and expected me to pay for my ticket I would be offended unless it was mentioned.
I wonder if her 'friends' are actually quite attractive but she sees herself as 'better' than they are and therefore more deserving of these perks?
I've known a few women who do get all of these perks, including trips, tickets, clothing, meals etc. but they were all exceptionally attractive. I've never really seen average women offered these things except on rare occasions. I have two female cousins who are absolutely stunning and both of them are complete nutcases...but it's never stopped them from getting their rent paid or getting plenty of gifts from random men.
