Yes, I'm with you all on that one--very bad form. The only time I could ever see it as acceptable is if the date apologizes and says I really need to send this one, and then stops.
Someone sent me a horrifying email the other day that showed what happened to a man who was texting while driving--it was very graphic. I just can't imagine what could be that important--it's not like I'd end a friendship w/ someone if they didn't immediately return my text. Even a job offer could wait.
If it was actually something that was really important I wouldn't have a problem with it but if she was doing it all the time I wouldn't be seeing her again. I had something similar to that happen on my first and only date with a woman last year. I'd met this woman for lunch and I think she had some little gadget that could access the internet and she was constantly checking to see the progress of a golf tournament. She sent me an email the next day and said she was sorry and that it may have seemed rude but it was rude and I never contacted her again.
I wonder where we're gonna be in 20 or 30 yrs from now.
