a woman with short hair? Like a layered bob? Or does it depend on the woman? I have long hair and am seriously contemplating hacking it all off. I've kept it long only because I'm actively dating and know men prefer long hair. Now, I'm ready for a change but am concerned I won't attract the right person. How important is hair to you?

Yes, yes, and yes! I think bobs are the WORST haircut on a woman. Thats just my opinion. I've never dated a woman with hair shorter than her shoulders. Short hair on some women looks good, I just don't like the bob look. So many women here in OK do that layered bob thing and I just look straight past them. Other guys probably don't feel as strongly about this as I do. If I was dating a woman with long hair and she surprised me and cut it short, I'd be mad. It wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but I wouldn't like it. Again, just me.

I don't think it makes much difference, though I slightly prefer long hair.

Yes, men prefer long hair. But...
Do what you want and what you like. If short hair suits you. It's your life.
You will attract the right person always, if you attracted them before.

That's kind of like asking "Men, do you prefer blondes or brunettes?" Everyone has their preference, and you shouldn't let that dictate what you want to do.

Short hair looks good on some girls, not so good on others. Hair is important for some guys, not important at all for others. etc, etc.

Some cuts can be too short, like the one on Charlize Theron at the Oscars.

A layered bob is fine. It actually turns me on.

Agreed, men like long hair (i do) but I highly doubt that short hair would stop any guy from dating a woman, unless its spiked really short; which most likely indicate shes butch lesbian and not into men.

The bob look only looks good on certain women.

Smaller framed, thinner women seem to be able to pull it off better. I've seen a couple of larger women, and it just didn't fly on them.

I too, prefer the longer hair on women, can't explain it, it just very feminine looking I like my women to be on the slightly feminine side, I don't care for the tomboy look.

But that being said, I've seen short hair on women and for some it looked great on them....
