Ain't that the truth... I'm solidly 6'1, bordering 6'2 at this point (hooray posture!) and when I did online dating I met up with plenty of guys who swore up and down they were 6'4 or taller but were shorter than me when they met. I really don't care (and I had an addendum at the end of my profile stating that I DON'T CARE HOW TALL A GUY IS) but the lying was irritating. I mean, did they really think they could lie and add an extra 5" to their height and nobody would be the wiser?

The OP is 5'7, and he's complaining??! 5'7" isn't short. It's close to average. 5'7" is a perfect height for guys, imo. I can't believe someone's getting all bent out of shape about being "short" at 5'7"! I call foul, the OP is trolling.

People are crazy. They just look for things to feel sorry for themselves about. Weird.

I don't think he is trolling about being single though. Pity.

Heh I am 6-2/6-3 and I have had no luck whatsoever. Such physical features are over exaggerated by people.

True I don't measure them but it's pretty close. I know just about where I should fit on his shoulder.

Sounds like trolling. I'm 5'6" and past elementary school antics I've never encountered a situation where it was held against me. Then again I never tried out for the Globetrotters. Just something that I've never really focused on. But I can imagine myself in another persons shoe's who may have faced it.

I do ignore the ones that I'm not attracted to though...but they're usually homeless, FAR older than me or just generally undesirable (drug dealers, thugs, ex cons etc.).

You may not mind a larger woman but most of the men I've met prefer short women, and the taller a woman is the thinner she has to be to compensate for it.
Fair enough. Just take it as a compliment from a real person (despite just being a person on the internet).

I only read the first and last pages of responses. I'm 5'4", late hubby was 5'5". I just want someone who can reach the top shelf in the cupboard for me but not be too tall either. 5'8", 5'9" would probably be the upper end of my preference scale.
