I am always the warmest object in the bed. I deliberately turn down the heat at night so that my girlfriend and both dogs battle it out for my warmth. Generally, my girlfriend wins the initial battle, and the dogs retreat to the floor until we fall asleep. At some point in the night, though, they counterattack and my girlfriend pushed off to the side while each dog spoons one of my legs. In the morning, though, I get up at 5:15 and feed and walk them, and after they are fed they get back into bed and cuddle with my girlfriend until she gets up at 7.
My dogs and I use teamwork to meet my girlfriend's cuddling needs without individually overextending ourselves. At the same time, my girlfriend (at night) and my dogs (on their morning walk) join forces to make sure I am getting enough cardio. School nights are always productive in my house.
