I posted this on another thread, but it seems like it's more appropriate to post it here...

The gist of it was:

I find the posts here to be very refreshing and helpful. You guys are straight shooters. And funny to boot. I think I watch too much dumb tv and too many dumb movies, so my attitude towards relationships is skewed. And I've been in the same one for so many years, that my insight is limited. My friends are always supportive of me no matter what, but are shy about tough love..

So I feel like this forum is a great cross-section of what REAL attitudes about relationships are. And it is refreshing to see that so many people have solid values. It's helped me reframe some of my ideas about things. In a very good way.
