I think that's how a lot of women feel, and a lot of men get confused by it.
When a woman expresses discomfort with her guy watching a lot of porn, sometimes the guy thinks she is not enthusiastic about him masturbating. But I think for most women the two have nothing at all to do with each other.
She wants him to get off whenever he feels like it, with or without her, but since she usually doesn't use porn when she masturbates it does not occur to her that he might think the two are connected.
I've seen this conversation play out so many times with my friends. Have some of you had the same experience?
Men, what happens when you try to masturbate without visual stimulation? (Please try to keep your answers PG-13.) Maybe us ladies need to understand.
Plenty of men masturbate without porn. Your post almost sounds as though that's impossible, i.e. that men need porn in order to facilitate masturbation.
Some women seem fine with porn, a lot of women don't care for it........ as far as the knuckle shuffle goes, men have been doing it since the dawn of time, I'm sure they will figure out something if visual stuff isn't available.
Men are of course in general more visual than women when it comes to sexual arousal, and we seek diverse visual stimuli, so that's part of it, but for me the auditory element is also significant. (There's a reason phone sex is popular, or at least used to be back before internet porn. Not sure if it still is or not.) Porn with no audio or with badly dubbed audio doesn't do as much for me, and real sex with a woman who is silent doesn't do much for me, either.
Masturbation itself isn't that different with or without porn for me. It's the arousal that is different. I'm less likely to become aroused in the first place without some kind of stimulus (be it "real" or simulated), so I'm less likely to have the need/desire to masturbate. Once I'm aroused, though, masturbation is masturbation.
It's been ages since I dated a woman who wasn't okay with porn. (Not since I lived in the Bible Belt many years ago.) Some women like to enjoy porn themselves, while others don't and would rather leave it to me, but I can't imagine being with a woman who was somehow morally opposed to all pornography in this day and age. It would be likely that we'd clash on many other issues, as well.

No, of course I know that is not true.
I was responding to the hundreds of posts here, in various threads, where guys assume that masturbation requires porn. Like you, I know that is not the case for every man.
I need to think of someone who really turns me on in order for me to not use porn to beat it to.
When I was in a relationship I didn't look at porn that often, but I dated more women who were OK with me watching it and would watch it with me, so my post is kind of skewed.

I'm not sure that I've seen these posts. That would be an odd thing for anyone to assume. Do you have links to any of them?
I'm a woman who only masturbates with porn, so I definitely couldn't really complain about a man doing it.
Thats a big key. I've dated a girl that watched as much as me. She was just very quiet and private about it.
Of course she was ok with me watching it.
Totally different if one person in the relationship doesn't do it at all. Thats obviously when theres more likely to be issues on the subject.
