ok...i know this will elicit people to post rude and mean comments. but i am just so tired.

and i am serious. i am so disheartened by all the men and women who comment everywhere that all men watch porn. "get over it, all men view porn".

in our life time yes porn has become much more mainstream. but the truth is porn as we know it is new. porn in magazines and videos and porn online is new.

we can now say that a lot of guys watch porn. because more and more they are being told that "all guys watch porn". every time you see something from a woman asking about this issue. every time...you will see the response multiple times that "all guys watch porn". so it's no wonder that more and more our boys are growing up to believe that is completely normal for them to forget about their girlfriends feelings...all guys do this, it is the girls problem if they don't like it.

but the thing all these guys who continually profess this "fact" that all men watch porn don't realize or don't want to realize is that this is all relatively new. porn magazines are not that old in the grand scheme of life on this planet. and then came porn videos. then of course we came into the internet porn age. which makes it so easy for anyone at any time. THIS IS NOT NORMAL THIS IS EASY. porn is easy now. and the more men (and women) who keep professing how normal porn is for guys to watch....the more normal our boys will continue to grow up believing this is the way guys are.

stop saying all guys watch porn. stop saying this! you all keep saying this like it is a male right.

this is not true. men do not HAVE TO watch porn. they are brainwashing girls and brainwashing themselves and the boys that are growing up in the next generation to believe that men NEED porn. omg men do not NEED porn. they want it and are being raised by others to believe that it is completely normal.

what did all the men do before the magazine and internet porn that is so readily available now? this is a recent issue that women are being forced to accept, and by the way if you don't agree you are a prude!, all men watch porn get over it.

i disagree and i am getting so tired of this. stop telling all of us that "all guys have to watch porn" as if that "should" be the norm. porn as we know it is new. all men have not had to watch porn in all humanity. what had men done in 200, 300, 500 years ago?

There are black and white "porn" pix you can google from the 1800's

There were "peep shows"

Hell back 1,000 years ago there were drawings, nude scenes/acts on pottery, books (in some places) as wells live shows and acts.

Oh, and: all guys watch porn.
Get over it.

what i would also love to know is who are these guys who always profess to know all guys? how can someone say they speak for all guys? and why do we want to keep telling all boys that all of them should watch porn?

No, all guys don't watch porn. However, a lot of people watch porn. As a female, I watch more porn than my boyfriend does.

Who is telling all the boys that all men watch porn? When you're twelve, is a memorandum from the president written to you, "Hey, this is Obama. Just a secret. All dudes watch porn."

If someone is impressionable enough to think that they have to watch porn, that's their own problem. It's just like people who are angry at advertisements and commercials for beauty products thinking it ruins girls' self-esteem. How do we get rid of those advertisements? People need to quit buying the darn products! Regardless of what goes on in the world around us, we're given cognitive thought for a reason.

Intelligent humans do not speak for all others when they state "all guys watch porn" because they know it is a "figure of speech".
Generally other intelligent humans know this and do not question the fact of the statement.

Women also have their own form of it: emotional porn. Romantic comedies that give an unrealistic representation of what real relationships with real men. Books like 50 Shades and Twilight that do the same thing. But you won't hear anyone complaining about them, although they influence women in the same way the video pornography influences men to have warped ideas about how the opposite sex operates. Get over it, human beings are obsessed with sex. If they weren't, we wouldn't be so prolific in population on this planet. Freud was quoted as saying that all of civilization was founded on redirected sexual energy. As someone pointed out above, there have been pornographic representations since prehistory: cave paintings, sculptures, figurines, written stories and plays (think Shakespeare), artistic paintings and the list goes on. So I don't agree with you that pornography is "new." My question is, why are you so against it?

Another thing I thought of: it doesn't take much more than a quick trot around this forum to see that there are many, many men who are very sexually frustrated and don't have much of a shot with real life women. Why do you want to deny them one of their only realistic outlets for that frustration, and why do you think you have a right to do so, OP?
