I've spent the last day or so getting my thoughts together.

Shayla should have got what I sent her by now, what she does with it, I really don't know. I just hope that she likes it.

I was able to get a classmate tutor me on my math homework later this week. So I'm good there.

But, two months from now, that's the big question here. I'll be taking a road trip, possibly just myself, which will be my first little foray into the big bad world. Maybe there are other girls out there for me, it just seems they are so far and few between a lot of the time.

It's like that for most people, kid. Finding a kindred spirit in the world isn't easy.

You didn't explain why you're thinking of postponing grad school.

I missed the window for the GRE months ago. Both of them.

That, and I need to get independent first. So, that may push it back a year or so.

Skipping a year isn't bad, but I thought you said you were taking 2 years off.

Why did you miss the GRE? btw, there are GRE prep books. You can spend some time prepping, now that you won't have both school and work competing for your time.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

While I want to go back east, my two buddies are also trying to leave their parent's places as well.

Now that's all good, but they either want to move off to Phoenix. I don't agree with their recreational habits however.

You can put together a better posse for yourself when you get to grad school. The women will be self-selected to be the more studious types, too. Those party girls will be gone. That might work out better for you, too. Keep on keepin' on, man.

Severed ear?

Seriously, she should be the last person on your mind. She treated you like crap on her shoe when she decided your friendship was basically unimportant to her. But you hope she "likes" your pointless, doormat gesture. Oy gevalt.

And when you said you were leaving town in 2 months, you made it sound to us like you were moving away. But it turns out it is just a vacation?

Desert Kid, will you ever stop lying to yourself and us?

I love the idea of a solo road trip! Do it, and take your time doing it and don't sweat girls at all, just have fun seeing all the crazy **** that's out there. I don't know you but that chick is in your past, and there's literally millions more out there in this country in your age range , many of which are way cooler than her and you're compatible with as well.

However you'll never meet or get to know any of them if you're hung up on the last one, so that's why I think the road trip is a great way to clear your head and start the next chapter in your life.

There is nothing wrong with a road trip coinciding with moving out? Or maybe one before the other to get a feel for where I want to go?

Yeah. Party girls are nothing but trouble in a lot of ways. I think I need to retool my choice in women.

This is pretty much the reason I want to do the road trip, a clear head and a bit of release from the last 2 years of chaos.
