Yeah, men (and women) with poor social skills are going to have a harder time doing lots of things.

Are they talking about you or just in general? Why do you take it personally when people say things against socially awkward people? Do you find yourself socially awkward. Do you want to own this reputation?

Nope. That's why I am improving my social skills.

I've learned there's this "culture" of dating and relationship "experts" that live online. They're not much different than the 4Chan denizens... who exist essentially off heresay and static or binary ideas about essentally dynamic things. Frankly, the socially awkward guys can't date meme is a favorite of theirs. Who knows why they like to talk about it so freakin' much, and devote any time to riding those who might be socially awkward.

Fact is, I know plenty of socially awkward guys (and girls) who are doing a lot better than myself with dating... and frankly, it's a spectrum anyway, with MOST people falling somewhere in the middle... and the "middle" portion still not all that good at it. Most people need some booze in 'em before they even look at the table next to them, let alone say hi to a stranger.

How do you have a girlfriend? Just a few weeks ago you weren't even talking to women.

Also, there's someone for everyone... but generally people don't want to be around socially awkward people because it's embarrassing. It also depends what kind of socially awkward you're talking about.. we're all pretty weird to an extent.

It just seems like basic logic to me that dating is going to be harder for a socially awkward person. And, just to be clear, I've always hated social situations. So I'm just speaking from experience (mine).

well you got very lucky OP because your girlfriend approached you first, most guys don't have that luxury

Remember that Hooters girl I said approached me? After the misunderstanding we had, we became friends. Shortly after that, I asked her out and she said yes. Once we went on a couple of dates, I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes.
