I'm over city life. I've been in the urban core of big cities my whole life, and after 2014 in St. Louis I've finally had my fill. My real estate agent friend is looking for land about 30 minutes west of the city. Close enough that big city ammenties aren't out of reach, but still remote and quiet, which is all I want at this point.
We have our real estate agent looking at 2 properties for us at the moment and if she has a good opinion about them we will make the 5 hour drive to go and look at them ourselves.
I forget that in other parts of the country homes are pretty reasonably priced.
Get so used to the insanity here in southern California.
Looking at some properties in New Mexico and I'm shocked at what 125k can buy there.
You literally couldn't find a piece of property here that costs that little. I mean even in south central Los Angeles, the famous Watts and Compton areas would still cost more... LOL...
Crazy stuff.
Housing prices are depressing here, my friends recently bought a 2 bedroom apartment for $830K...It is ridiculous.

Holy Canoly, and I think the price of the one property is way too high and it is a home on 4 acres listed for $89,000.00.
We won't pay near that for a home on 4 acres, actually we just won't pay that high of a price.

they bought near the beach, so I guess that drives prices up, but its still just ridiculously expensive. I would never pay that amount of money for a property.

4 acres sounds soooo good.
We would seriously consider the 4 acres if they will drop the price quite a bit but we have alternate plans for said property.
If the realtor thinks it is worth a look and we like it and we come to an agreement on price we will be having part of it rezoned for commercial property.
ah. Today is the day I finally finished my stew. While it was delicious, I am not upset that it's gone, for I now have a massive turkey to cook at some point.

We're about a mile or so from the beach.
IDK.... beachfront living I think is probably overrated. Nice, but not at those price levels "nice"....
I've been looking at places in the suburbs of Albuquerque and wishing I could sell and move there. We got enough equity to walk away with a decent amount of money to drop on a place there.
I think for me, it's not as much about the cheaper housing, but I'm just finding the traffic and crowds here becoming to much to deal with.
Can't just pickup and go some place, traffic is always a concern.
Wonder how much of our lives is spent doing nothing but sitting in traffic.
The most traffic we had here is last summer when they were working on the bridge and they ran the detour past our home.
The "rush hour" lasted about 3 minutes....LOL
