I got off my husband's benefits last year. He has a high deductible plan and with me on it, the deductible was ridiculous. I think it's at $3200 right now. With me on it I think it was $3800 or something ridiculous like that, and we would have paid that outright every year due to the labs/imaging I have done.

They are cranking our deductible up to 2600. The deductible for us doesn't change for having Mrs. Chow on the plan but they're going to jack up the cost an extra 150 a month I don't have the numbers in front of me but we were already paying like 280 a month... which while sounds pricey it's still cheaper than trying to purchase outside of the company.... but damn...

They are giving us a little chunk of money to help with the deductible.... something like 500 bucks, so it bring it down to 2100...... either way lots of money to fork out. They high deductible plans make some sense for those that don't have a need to go to the doc frequently as the monthly nut for the other plans can be really high but if you use it a lot it makes sense financially.

One of the guys I work with says that having the entire family plan is like a 1000 bucks a month....

I have a feeling that more and more costs are coming our way and that the deductibles are gonna get to the point that all medical insurance is going to be good for is for catastrophic events such as getting a major illness or a major auto accident as those bills can easily get into the 6 figures.....

At least with medical insurance you have caps that save you from paying all that money... but again..... going to the doc for minor things is pretty much gonna be on you til ya get up to those much much higher deductibles....

Work your balls off and get nowhere........

With my company the HSA deductible will be $1700 and double for +1 (family). The wife's HSA plan deductibles are $700 less for each plan. Sounds like your husband has HSA and comparatively speaking a $3800 deductible for 6 people is not bad.

Yup....I remember back in the day when ins. was free to the employee. Mine is still relatively low, so I can't complain, however I work for a very large "company".

Because my employer offers ins., if I opted to stay with my husband he would have had to pay an additional $150 a month for me.

My ins. is roughly $20 for medical and dental for me. My copays were $70 for the endo though, which is every 2-3 months. Thankfully I DON'T have to pay $1K out of pocket every time I go there though...that's what it would have cost under my husband's plan.
$70 doesn't sound that bad then...lol
About 8yrs ago our specialist copy was $30 though...kills me.

I have no idea what he has, only that I needed to get off of it otherwise we'd burn through $3800 in medical expenses every year, guaranteed.

Do you like simple yet elegant things like the traditional little black dress with a single strand of modest pearls?
Do you like a simple walk in the park as opposed to a loud concert?
Do you prefer small group gatherings at home instead of going to a restaurant?

You are not actually as pessimistic as you think you are but you like everyone to see the pessimistic side more than the optimistic side.
Yes I do like elegant things....long dresses with either diamonds or pearls.

I do prefer walks.

As for your last question, I like both.

I apologize for my air headedness loooool

Well I have just worn myself out again and it is pathetic because I didn't do that much.
I took out several bags of trash and the only reason there are several bags is because the litter boxes were cleaned out and I cleaned out the fridge as well.
Then I did one dish drainer full of dishes with more waiting to be washed and I have to sit for a few minutes.

No need to apologize I was actually unsure about both, it felt like you were comfortable either way but prefer one a wee bit more than the other.
