Somewhere I vaguely recall the adage about looking a gift-horse in the mouth....

For some of us, meeting a potential romantic partner at work, is not a tenable option. We have three options: online dating, introductions via a friend ("blind date"), or approaching a complete stranger.

Guilty as charged. I incessantly hanker for set-ups by my acquaintances and friends. Almost invariably the response is for them to politely decline.

In sum, I wholeheartedly wish that I had the OP's problems....

I empathize. I am direct and I get called crass, etc, but I am honest when other BS and spin things.

I had 1 or 2 blind dates, and nah they didn't amount to anything either.

I just didn't "feel the connection" " there was no chemistry"

Even though I was always open to the "set up", I was always a little miffed that my friends could be so presumptuous. Thinking that I didn't have the skillset to find an adequate mate? Not trusting my judgement?

I dunno.

The one married couple that I hung out with when I was single ALWAYS tried to set me up.

They ended up getting divorced.

Maybe they should've concentrated on their own stuff instead of mine.
