Chow went there as a graduation gift out of high school. His girlfriend's cousin lived there, so they got to stay with him. So he's been there, done that. lol

I've always loved Kauai best. We used to have Marine Maneuvers on Maui & Kauai & Hawaii (the Big Island), & Oahu, in isolated areas.
Yeah... Oahu is an overrated tourist shytstorm....
Waikiki beach is a joke too...... way way overrated....
Need to get away from all of that touristy crapola and really see the islands.... I did like that we stayed with someone that lived there and was away from all of the tourist and hotels on the beach.... got a taste of what the real island was about.
They had military in the family so we got access to the base there... was interesting seeing building that still had bullet holes in them from the Japanese attacks.
They purposely didn't repair them.. I think it was reminder to stay vigilant... I suppose....

Waimea Bay is on Oahu. We slept on the beach & swam/surfed/snorkeled when I served on a ship in Pearl Harbor.
Yeah, I'm mostly the lone wolf of the group. I have always done my own thing.
