How often do you think the average single person in their 20s or 30s has sex? (girlfriend, long-term)

And they aren't. I go out a lot. Probably too much, honestly, and that "meat market" that was prominent in the 90s pre internet dating is gone from live music clubs, bars, etc. It's nothing like it used to be. Nothing.
If that were the case women wouldnt get FLOODED online with dating sites. Flooded is probably an understatement.
If you have lived the college life and post college single life you will notice there are two kinds of people.
1. Those who gout out with a group consisting of guys and girls
2. Those who go out with groups consisting of only guys or only girls
The first group usually gets drunk and ends up hooking up with their friends of the opposite sex at the end of the night. The second group usually has to put in a lot more work to find a fellow single person by the end of the night. This is how it was in my city anyways (a university town).

That isn't true at all. Not sure why you get that idea. A dude can have a few lovers and still be looking for more. That's common. Heck, a lot of the people that contact my lady friends OLD are married or in relationships. They're already getting some.

A lot more people going out, for one. I was never a smoker, and hated cigarrettes, but things definitely changed after smoking bans. Fewer people went out to bars for sure after the bans (the data is pretty clear on this). And people just interacted with strangers more, flirted more, bought each other drinks more (and the bartenders drank with you more and gave out free drinks more). I think the latter stuff probably stopped with alcohol licensing crackdowns. But the vibe definitely changed with smoking bans, and crack downs on drunk driving. I'm not saying those are negatives, but the vibe changed. Overall alcohol consumption is also down in the U.S. since the 90s.
I don't think anyone can give you this number OP... unless anyone here as access to some scientifically gathered data, it's all just guess work. Not to mention a lot depends on where you live... college town stats are going to be different than small town in the boonies stats which are going to be different from large, cosmopolitan city stats.
