I don't know. I like them dark and strong. I'm married and he matches that criteria. I'm from Minnesota (born and raised) and Scandanavian and met him in Arizona. Riddle me that one.

Women really love the tall dark and handsome looks out west as opposed to down south where a guy with those looks would usually not do as well as a blonde haired or lighter featured male.

Am I the only one that notices that an American woman's preference in the kind of handsome men she likes varies a lot based on region?
Those are the only two types women in this country really like, lol.

Yeah, this is a bizarre thread, to say the least.

There's a lid for every pot, and yes, there are far more than two pots....

I'm not sure if it's a geographical thing for me. (female) When I was brunette, I seemed to have opposites attracting - blonde, paler men. I'm heading back to being a blonde to my tall, dark, handsome types. However, women in Colorado liked fugly mountain douche's. So, there might be something to that belief.

I've lived in the Midwest, south and east and yes I've noticed certain types of males fare better in different towns/areas etc and the same goes for the type of women men seem to find attractive overall. That being said surely op you realize that the all white cowboy and the exotic Latin guy are not the only types of men that women find attractive lol?

That impacts the quality of jobs.

I really like Paradise Valley, where hawaiiancoconut lives. But living in a single family house in PV makes no sense as a unmarried male.

Phoenix grew way too fast without good infrastructure. The metro area would be better off it is was about half its size and focused just on retirees and ASU students.

As for dating, the pool isn't that impressive. There are lots of singles that are say 22-early 30s, but they don't really have a lot going for them.
Yeah, as a single guy looking for the one, I brought this up (along with a few other points) on the PHX forum and got a split consensus of 1. "Phoenix is a great place to meet smart, decent women looking at the long term... you must just suck at life." and 2. "If you're the least bit with it & upwardly mobile, get the eff out of Dodge, PHX is all poseurs and diggers!"

Not sure which to believe. Most my friends and brothers' friends have managed to meet women here and marry (granted, some have moved away after), but here I am with zero propositions going on two years deep. I've got a good career going on (not just, "good for Phoenix"), have my own place, have the means to travel and do fun things, got no baggage, am reasonably fit, etc. I'm just at the point where I feel like the standards here are stratospherically high... I'm just not good enough for women with high school degrees working retail in Mesa or similar mediocrity.

My current employer is on the verge of boom-or-bust. I can't say I'll try too hard to find something here if the ship sinks. Try Denver or Austin or something. ¯\(°_o)/¯

I think what the OP is observing is that different areas of the Country have different concentrations of certain ethnic groups, and that that mix effects what is perceived to be attractive. Germans are going to be more attractive in Milwaukee than Houston, Irish are going to be more attractive in Boston than Los Angles, Cubans are going to be more attractive in Miami than Chicago.

Most women like tall, fit, and handsome men. This isn't rocket science.

However, ALL women seem to LOVE money. I've never met a women that didn't LOVE money.
