A journal won't help you. What you need is a Magic 8 Ball.

i've kept a journal since 2002 (i was in 9th grade!!!). i'm now 28. it is AWESOME to look back at the guys i've dated/hooked up with.

so yes, in my personal opinion i think it is useful. in dating and life in general.

If not, they really should. I make spreadsheets for EVERYTHING.

As for dating, I created one when I was on both Match and OKC as an experiment to compare free and paid sites. I was using it to track who viewed me, who messaged me, etc.

In the end, it was a waste of time that resulted in a whopping zero dates.

It's very helpful for me and it's highly recommended for grief therapy. I kept journals for the first year after my LH died; I also created a blog. Several of my widowed friends also turned to writing of some kind.

I enjoy writing but lately don't do enough of it.

Been there, done that. If I don't like what it says, I just ask another one.

As for the OP's question. No, I don't. I had one date in 2013, two in 2014 and one last year (well, technically two but it was the same person) and I recently deleted my OKC profile. I did meet someone of interest last week, but it turns out he has a boyfriend. So it would be a waste of a perfectly good journal.

I do keep one however. It's one of those 5-year reflection journals I use as a recap of my day or to express how I'm feeling about something. So in that respect, the guy I went out with in December did get journaled about but for no other reason than that was what I did that day. I'll be curious 5 years from now if I can decipher my handwriting from the prior years (started it last year).

A date journal? lol

No. That would have been a lot of journaling.
