I don't really get it. It seems like it's just walking around in the woods and on mountains.

This is not meant to be sarcastic. I'm genuinely curious.

No, that's pretty much it. LOL. We've hiked around the Hollywood hills before. Sometimes it's nice, you can into nature a bit. It's not for everyone and we don't do it all the time.

Many people find it relaxing. Things like stress, worry, obsessing over problems usually fade away. It's a very sensual experience, meaning it engages most or all of your senses; sight, sound, smell, touch, and, depending on the circumstance, taste. It sounds cliché and corny, but I always feel more "alive" and at home out in nature, away from everything. I've always felt that way, even as a kid.

Since so many people find "getting back to nature" to be so pleasant and healing, I always find it kind of sad that so many of us live in the "concrete jungle."

But, obviously, it's not for everyone.

Well, I guess I could try it when it's cooler out (I just moved to Arizona).

Ha, well, yes, that could be a hindrance during certain months.

I should also add that hiking just feels good physically, gets your blood pumping, although it doesn't even have to be that strenuous. And you feel great afterward.

It's kind of romantic: unplugged from your devices, a plethora of shrubbery to sneak behind for kissing n' stuff

And one can fake a twisted ankle, so the other feels like a protective/manly-man/rescuer. (I may or may not have pulled this one )
