Well, IMO, the butterfly feeling needs to be present, but I'll use logic and reason to ensure that they're a good choice and truly compatible. Besides, the romance can be nurtured and it can last, as I can attest for us both after 17 years. We both had the strong head over heels thing going in the beginning, but we're also both very rational. We made sure we talked about everything and even lived together to ensure we were compatible for the long term.
