There's a girl at my office that I like. Should I pursue? What should I know? What are the cautions?

How closely do you work together? Does your company have a policy on relationships?

Unless you and she are absolutely positively smitten with one another and you can't take it anymore, unless you have both verbally and in written form declared that you'd like to date one another, then don't do it. Even then, proceed with caution and a great deal of discretion. For what if it doesn't work out?

I agree with Minivan Driver. Proceed with caution.

That said, I work for a large company and there are quite a few people that date people in the same office. I think it's kind of nuts but to each their own.

Although I work for a large company, the actual department I work for is pretty small (10 people) and I am convinced two of my co-workers are dating. It is so obvious but they are trying to hide it. We all work so closely together I can't imagine trying to do that.

I assume the female you are attracted to works in a different department? And hopefully neither one of you have managerial oversight over the other? How large is the company you work for?

Do it... then when it doesn't work out, get her fired.

Have you been able to remain friends or on good terms with people you dated (and didn't work out)?

If no... Do not even think about it.

If yes... proceed with caution (and be prepared to change jobs).

In 2017 "we" feel the same way about it that we did in 2016. Bad idea.
