How did you get over something toxic?

Then I found out he had a girlfriend. She must have been away or something when we were dating because there was no red flags for me to suspect that. He tried to explain this by apologizing profusely, saying he loved me etc and that they were on their last legs and in the middle of a breakup. ANYWAY, the most recent thing is that he is having some problem with another girl who he cheated with (I know) and she is threatening to ruin his relationship and he is stressed. 1. A THIRD GIRL. 2. WTF. 3. I thought he was in the middle of a breakup so how is he saying that this girl is going to ruin his relationship.

I got the hell out of there as soon as this happened.

What's the quickest way to get over this?
