I tend to agree Arya, but I would say "many" men, and "many" women. And yes, "many" men are going to have to change. They have already, but not enough. Not until women are paid the same as men, which probably won't happen in my lifetime, but it should happen and sooner not later.
If you actually believe this, I think you are out of your cotton-picking mind. I suppose, if you're a hammer everything looks like a nail. Likewise, if you look for dysfunctional relationships, you will find them.
For example, this particular forum? If you spent all day reading the posts here, that might coincide with your world view. But, truth is, the people who post on here are the ones with the problems. And those problems are due to either poor choices, neuroses, or stubbornness to accept the fact that they might be a huge part of the problem.
Get off the message boards if that's the way you truly feel. Because they are really beginning to distort your reality.
Wait a minute MinivanDriver, you're more reasonable than that. Based upon your posting history of which I'm well aware, I am surprised you would make such a blanket statement. By your accounts your marriage is happy, and you post in this forum.
I don't agree that women aren't paid as much as men. You cannot make a blanket statement like that. It depends on credentials, hours of work, and other factors. One of the biggest reasons why women don't earn as much as men is their choice of career as well as not working full time hours. My female coworkers work only 30 hours. No, they aren't going to be paid a salary equal to 40 hours if they're only working 30 hours.
The number of people who are acquiring satisfying and fulfilling relationships (or any relationships at all, for that matter) is on the decline. Have you not noticed "red pill/black pill" ideology becoming increasingly mainstream? Have you not noticed the increasing amount of women who want to just avoid all men (and vice-versa)? Things will soon get so bad that not even the most clueless and oblivious NPC will be able to pretend that there isn't a serious problem.
Ironic and telling the use of NPC. The people who don’t base their opinions on their own experiences, but instead follow Red Pill theory and ideology, adopting their views to what they read online at 4chan, and what “everybody tells them”? People too afraid to have their own experiences, just regurgitate latest buzzwords and acronyms found online from like-minded communities? Those people are the real NPCs. The Non Playing Characters relying on internet rhetoric to function.
Go out and live your life offline, without that 4chan/red pill confirmation bias agenda.
Back in my childhood, almost no women played golf on a regular, casual basis. Nowadays, it’s quite common.
I haven’t noticed animosity between genders on our neighborhood course. People socialize together in the clubhouse without boundary. In fact, men and women are friends!
Same with pickle ball. Seems like mixed teams are the norm. Then they go to lunch…
When men and women spend time together, they get together.
Yes, my experience is that increasingly, more and more men and women have platonic friendships. I certainly do, and so does my housemate. He hasn't abandoned his friends, and in particular his female friends just because he now has a girlfriend.
