Had a fantastic week-end, went to a wonderful Medieval festival on Saturday and fair with the recreation of the Battle of Tewkesbury ( proper tended camps, craft stalls and recreation of battle camp with blacksmiths, fletchers etc.. as well) , on sunday a sculpture exhibition in beautiful gardens with some stunning pieces, dinner at some friends ( ending up playing "Guitar Hero" !!) and this evening seeing Susanne Vega in Oxford so all in all not a bad couple of days.

What did not make me so happy though was being lured into a false sense of security by grey skies and ending up with terrible sunburn... I feel as though I look like a lobster at the moment ( well my arms anyway).

Had a very good weekend. Basically I got so much done around the house, inside and out in spite of the heat. Felt good to be productive and still get to spend time with the family as well.

Forgot to post last night's supper:

Fry 12 strips of bacon, set aside; then saute petite-chopped cauliflower in aforementioned bacon's delicious grease, remove; saute Canadian bacon in same grease, remove; then deglaze pan with first lemon juice, then moscato wine, allowing to boil long enough to remove the alcohol, finally adding white pepper and garlic, continuing to simmer and reduce.

Meanwhile mixed crumbled bacon, Canadian bacon and cauliflower with capellini and top with Romano and toss; pour reduced "sauce" over the whole thing and enjoy!

It won't win me any health awards but it was absolutely delicious and surprisingly non-heavy on the stomach!
