Never. Public displays of affection make me look soft. That's not a good thing.
When I'm out it's important that I'm alert and always ready in case there's a situation. I can't ever relax when I'm in the street. I wished I could but I'm just too tense.
I'd prefer not to do it whatsoever, but once in awhile is one thing. Constantly hanging all over each other is something else. I would start to feel crowded and nobody really cares to see it anyway. Couples who do that make you wonder what they're trying to hide. It's like they can't talk to each other so they just hang all over each other instead.

It's really hard to find discreet people these days, especially my age.
Hand holding and quick kisses are the extent of my displays of affection in public. Whether single or not, I find people who can't keep their hands off each other and literally have sex with their clothes on extremely annoying. When it goes into that territory, I think it devolves from "let me show you affection" to "I want everybody to look at us!"
I think PDA is sweet for the most part...but that's probably because my ex refused to hold hands, touch me in any way or even walk next to me for the most part (he always walked a step or two ahead of me) in public so to me PDA says 'I am proud of being with this person and I don't care that everyone knows we're together'

What kind of situation? You mean when/if you are out on a date you keep a distance in case someone better looking should happen to see you?
Make you look soft? To who, strangers you will never see again? That makes no sense.
I'm all for a little pda. Why would you worry what someone else thought about you holding hands?
