I am a physically fit guy..not muscular or anything just fit.. I have an active lifestyle, hit the gym regularly and I'm into various outdoor activities such as bicycling, hiking, snowboarding etc. When I tell other women that I am looking for someone who is not overweight they put on grim faces and tell me I am being shallow and should judge people by what is in their hearts.
First off, I would like to ask how is this unreasonable? Someone overweight is not going to be compatible with my lifestyle. Isn't that true? All I am asking for is someone who is not overweight, is that an unreasonable expectation?
BTW, being overweight is a risk for various health issues, not only that more often than not being overweight is a result of other psychological issues...depression etc.
There is nothing wrong with being healthy & seeking someone who is compatible. I wish I had taken better care of my body when I was younger. I am working on getting healthier now, but for a woman over 40 it is no fun task! I say good for you!
Yes there is....Jabba The Huts are taking over. His expectations are too high.

K374, If you refuse to talk to someone, uh... what did Artsy call it... "full figured", or hire them, or like them, or be friends with them... that would be shallow.
But when you're looking for a partner? Who cares (other than a full-figured gal or two)? Physical attraction is pretty important in a relationship; it's not smart to get involved with someone who repulses you, for whatever reason, whether you should be repulsed or not.

You'll get no disagreement here. I face the same thing when I say that to the men! It's a lifestyle thing for me.
Just say you are looking for a fellow Fitness enthusiast! 'Nuff said.
