That's a very good policy, indeed.

She greeted me and all, asked how my wife & kids were, then (as I was expecting it) she was really shaking and nervous as she tried to explain to me what happened that night. She said she went out with some friends and she couldn't drive home because she was drinking and her "friend" drove her home. She said he was just a good friend of her husband's and hers and that nothing really happened.

I kind of played dumb and asked her what was she talking about. She mentioned the parking lot issue and I told her it wasn't any of my business what she does. Everybody lives their life how they choose to and that I wasn't an angel either. After I said this I sensed she felt a little relaxed and she said it was very cool of me to have an open mind. That my wife was very lucky to have me and yada-yada-yada.

So with the "monkey off my back" I no longer have to avoid her anymore and live my life as I do, that is minding my business.
I think you did the best thing by avoiding the situation altogether. Getting involved in things like this (when they aren't violent) is probably the best route to take.

It's sad that she's cheating on her husband but to intervene might have some negative consequences on both of your family's lives.

You absolutely did the right thing. I predict you will find staying out of it was the best decision.

Dude... she has YOU in her sights, now. Read those words you wrote she said... 'your wife is very lucky to have you' - that is code for "let's go to bed."
