Well my wife met me when she was in high school and we got married. Does that count?

I did. I was 16 when we started dating, 22 when we got married, and 29 when we split up. I think it's great that some people can marry their high school sweetheart and grow together, but in my case we only grew very far apart.

I didn't marry mine, in retrospect it was a good decision. While I'm glad it works out for some, I think it is wiser to wait a few yrs longer.

JMHO.

Is there such a thing as "High School Sweethearts" anymore? I think that they pretty much died out in the 80s. I mean really, I cant imagine anyone having a high school sweetheart in this day and age anymore.

Having a girlfriend/boyfriend the last semester of senior year I think hardly qualifies as "High school sweetheart".

As sad as it is, you're probably right...
