To each their own is what I say. Life teaches all of us at different times about different things. not so sure there is a universal playbook that we can look at and say ahhhh........there it is, the answer
A 20-40 year age gap could work with the right people.
A 20 yo and a 40 or 60 yo? Not likely because the levels of maturity are (usually) quite different and they would probably be at very different points in their lives - just starting careers vs getting ready to retire; ready to have children vs having grandchildren already. Now a 40 yo and 60 or 80 yo? Little bit different story there.
I say, to each their own. If they can make it work...kudos to them.
I think anything more than 20 years difference is begging for problems.
