What do you think of older men marrying younger women or vice versa? The age gap could range 20-40 years.

Is it bad?

As long as both parties are commited and in love, I could care less about an age gap! It's the gold diggin' men and women that bother me! Don't marry someone for money!

Well it's the couple's business and no one can stop them but if you're asking what thoughts would be going through my mind if I saw an old man with a young woman at a bar...I'd laugh my butt off. Looks hideous.

There will not be a problem unless both of them love each other and promise for life long commitment.
but practically speaking there will be problem for sure one way or the other.
the reason why men should be older than girls is that men will be fully mature a bit slowly than the girls.
girls will mature at very young age both mentally and physically.

My honest opinion is that when you have an age gap that great, you can't possibly have anything in common and what happens when the MUCH older spouse begins showing signs of age when the young one is barely out of college? I just think it's fine for a short term - "finding yourself" kind of relationship but I don't see a huge age gap as working out in a long-term, successful relationship.

Ya really wanna know? Sometimes I think its a gold-digger thing. Any girl who might be 15-20 or more years younger, why else would they want to hook up with an older man??
Now keep in mind this does not apply to all relationships with that big of an age gap but we do see this all the time. I used to hear friends back in Az say they would love to find some older man 'with one foot already in the grave' for their own benefit, and thats just WRONG!
Again, this doesnt apply to all those type of relationships, it works opposite too, older women/ way younger men. Sad.

Just watched a good old movie with this as its theme. It starred Fredric March and Kim Novac. The title escapes me, but it really touched on the possibility of two very different generations uniting from sheer love and admiration (loneliness, too).

Art, imitating life? That old movie reminded me of the distinct possibility that not all of these types of relationships are cliche.
