I guess I have to be thankful. I took for granted my basic social skills! Reading TVSG's posts make me realize not everyone has those lol

Here is my problem

Since meeting online, 80% of our communication has been email and we only had 1 phone conversation that lasted about 15-20 mins because she had to make a run. So I have not been able to get a feel for her personality over the phone and just been mostly email. I feel kind of weird meeting someone who I have not had a chane to connect with over the phone.

So my question to the guys is would you still go on the date even though there has been very little phone talk?

Make it an day time, afternoon date, go dutch and have a good time.

Men don't ever compulsively spend money on electronics, tools, cars/motorcycles, video games, online porn, or anything like that. It's all just women and their shoes.

OK, any bets he spent Sat night in the bathroom working on his hair? I notice it's now 12/02 and Sat date night has passed. There's been no update by Don Juan so I'm doubting he actually got out of the bathroom and met his date.

Or did he go to the date then spend the time "doing his best in the bathroom".

Of course I know you're being sarcastic! I was once married to a man whose toys were VERY important and it eventually became a huge contention in the marriage. The very expensive Meerschaum pipes, the little Alfa Romeo, the pure silk ties and the custom-made shirts and suits - the emphasis on so many material things in order to keep up with the Joneses and at a time when we were holding three mortgages (the economical slump in the late 70s) and all the Joneses were such a superficial bunch. And I was busting my chops as usual working like a dog. Ouch!

As far as wigirl920's comment, "Well, one could counter that the percentage is higher because women are taking the step to get in control and get help, whereas men are not. Thus, the percentage would be higher for women..." I couldn't agree more and was something which immediately came to mind when I read the post which prompted the comment.

Oh you didn't check? He started a a new thread and although he went on the date it turned out that although he had a very nice time with her she wasn't, "dating material" because she didn't turn him on ... According to the new thread he has a date next Saturday with a 31 year old lawyer who he met on CraigsList. Yeah, right, 31 year old lawyers post on CraigsList looking for dates?

Now remember, your addressing a generalized assumption posted by
a man.

I'll just laugh and make light of it, and let him think what he wishes, my ego can handle it.
