You don't have to be anti-social to not eat cake. You just say something like, "Thanks. It looks delicious, but I don't eat sweets." You can't blame your colleagues for your bad choice.
By your logic a recovering alcoholic could never go to a party or out to dinner because they'd have to drink to be social. Not true. Just say no.

Do what I did when I went out with some friends to a pizza place and didn't like the pizza. I got a fork and started to slowly cut the pizza into tiny little pieces and spread them around the plate. Then I went into my purse, unwrapped a gum, and started chewing. I then proceeded to push my food around the plate so it looked like I was eating. Nobody noticed anything.
Temp, I haven't had a pizza slice in years Just a few bites here and here which I promptly chew and spit when the person goes away.
