People tell me I have a deep voice, although around kids and animals, it tends to get higher.

One thing I've noticed is just how often a person's voice doesn't really seem to match them. By that, I mean you look at them and expect them to sound a certain way, but when you hear them speak, it sounds nothing like you'd think it would.

I've noticed that some guys intentionally deepen their voices to sound more masculine. It's not that they didn't have a masculine voice to begin with, but you get the feeling they're trying to impress. Certain actors like George Clooney immediately come to mind. Then you have people who talk in a drugged-out monotone. Think Keannu Reeves.

When it comes to women's voices, I can't stand it when they sound like a chipmunk, especially if they talk at 80mph. But just like some guys trying to sound more masculine, some women try to sound sexy. In both cases, it's more funny than sexy.

I'm a woman, and I can't stand the voices of those women above (besides Clinton. I don't think she has a nasal or shrill voice).

You just listed a perfect example of the type of voice that I like.

I'm not particularly a fan of raspy voices. I like deep but smooth tones.

I think a similar sound is appealing on women, too. Sultry, breathy voices are appealing. I can't think of anyone famous to point to, though.. Maybe Christina Hendricks.

No, we pay attention to the voices. This way we prepare ourselves for when her tone tells us we're in trouble.

Rosie Perez's voice tops the list. I can't stand to listen to her. Fran Drescher is a close second. I'm not fond of the nasal voice at all, like Ray Romano and the guy from the Sargento cheese commercials. Cheese is our paaaaaaassion.

I always like Sally Kellerman's voice, very pleasant speaking voice. I also like the voices of--Demi Moore, Tellulah Bankhead, Salma Hayek, Lucy Liu, Kathleen Turner (voice of Jessica Rabbit), Elizabeth Pena, and for some strange reason Jennifer Tilly's voice does something for me. I typically don't like high pitched voices, but something about hers, I don't know, she just has that "f*** me" voice.

Add Gilbert Gottfried to that list for me.

I have a really whiney Southern voice. I hate to hear myself on voice mail, etc. My husband, on the other hand, has a great voice. Most people thinks he should be a preacher or a song leader! He's far, far away from either of those.

Women used to call my voicemail just to listen to my message. This is totally true.
