Unconsciousness is being unaware, being blind to reality, being like the dreamer who doesn't even know they're dreaming. I'm awful at explaining this. I highly recommend A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle to anyone who is trying to figure out what I'm saying. He says it much better, and in much more detail.

That's a direct quotation from The Book of Crom.

Someone on another board I frequent has this in his signature:

The bad news: there is no key to the universe.
The good news: it's not locked.

lol

What would be an example of a need?

I see the meaning as different for every living organism, and the ability to understand and achieve that meaning is as easy or complex as they that organism makes it. For some it is a wave of virtue, truth, and moral conviction for others it is finding the truth, which changes when the next truth exposes itself. Than for the greatest minds the meaning could be an abstract target shifting with reality and continuing even after the last philosopher’s final word fades into a void, lost to feeble minds searching for understanding, and meaning of their existence.

The best answer I've found so far, from my brother that is 11 years younger than me, is to help each other through this thing "called life" That's the meaning of life.

What exactly do you mean by content? Do you mean satisfied with how things are in the world?

Would you classify a virus or a bacteria as being 'alive' then?

If this is the purpose of the space shuttle and station then that seems like a big waste of money to me.
