Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I came here because I enjoy discussing and debating philosophy, wisdom, and the like. I also wanted my first post to be good so here it goes.

What is the ultimate and absolute meaning of life?

In accordance to internet rulz, you've been hazed.

In answer to your question, I don't think there is absolute meaning to life; we make our own meaning.

Do more good than harm (or phrased different do more creation or aid than you do injury or destruction)
Love God and other people

Something like that.

Note: I know the "God" thing will anger some, but the first is unrelated to God.

To release energy.

Life is (probably) no more than complex chemical reactions and electricity. Just about all of earth's energy comes from the sun. Life is the process of converting mass into energy via the chemical reactions in the form of life (and other things). A human eats (takes in mass) and converts some of it to energy.

You can glamorize life with love, feelings, emotions, thoughts, etc. but life is just complex chemistry. Some people think there is an imaginary being in the sky. Everything about life can be disintegrated into chemistry and electricity including thoughts and feelings. Things like "soul" and "spirit" are baseless words that have no mass or energy. Thoughts for example have mass or energy or an arrangement of both inside the brain. So do feelings.

Why does vinegar and baking soda fix when mixed together? Chemical reactions. What are we? Chemical reactions.

Might not be entirely accurate but it is probably not much more than that.

I agree! We make our own meaning. To me - it's to love, laugh, and try to make the world a better place. If there was one absolute meaning - to be that would be love. To others, it might be something else.

First, you have to ask what is life? Here are a few definitions,
Life | Define Life at Dictionary.com

Asking what the meaning of life is like asking, why is an orange sad?

The only mean life has, is the meaning you put into it. Therefor, the meaning of life, is simply to live.

D'oh, someone already said 42.

Converting unconsciousness into consciousness, or in other words, learning and becoming more aware of everything.

To crush your enemies, drive them before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.
